Blackhole Son

:: older now. your vocabulary grown.
:: enough to describe imagination.

:: ironically, your thoughts seem more clear
:: and have an economy of language.

:: but, if a man's focus sharpens with age,
:: his opinions of the world homogenize.

:: and if those opinions are negative,
:: he can suck the life out of anything.

:: like a blackhole in space allows no light,
:: nothing can escape his tragic effect.

:: religion can't change this dark man's soul,
:: for his scriptures strengthen his sad bleakness

:: and will reinforce what he thinks he knows.
:: that his world is black -- his book tells him so.
